Surgical treatment of an intrathoracic rib causing cough in a young woman

Keeping in mind its appearance and types on chest x-rays can prevent unnecessary examinations and invasive procedures. Locations and relationship to adjacent tissues of intrathoracic ribs determine its clinical course and surgical decision.
